- He is the elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales.
- Since birth, he has been second in the line of succession to the British throne. William was educated at four schools in the United Kingdom and studied for a degree at the University of St Andrews.
- During a gap year, he spent time in Chile, Belize, and Africa.
- In December 2006, he completed 44 weeks of training as an officer cadet and was commissioned in the Blues and Royals regiment.
